Our new generation of electric or gas-heated salt bath vulcanization lines impresses with high productivity in combination with low specific energy consumption. This groundbreaking system guarantees excellent heat transfer.

Modular and compact configuration and design layout, low salt discharge and cutting-edge computer control are the specific features of the lines made by Rubicon.

Depending on the length of the line and the compound composition, production speeds can be as high as 80 m/min while excellent surface quality of the profiles or hoses is achieved.

Salt recovery systems

To enhance the efficiency and environmental acceptability of our salt-bath vulcanization lines, we have developed a reliable automatic salt recycling system.

This system is designed to recover the salt discharged during processing in the washing line. After that, the salt is continuously returned to the salt bath as a melt trough a closed loop. 

Thus, no salt water will contaminate the environment, and salt consumption in the system will be very low.

Microwave vulcanization lines

Combined with a downstream hot runner, our microwave vulcanization lines are preferably used for large-volume rubber profiles. They are characterized by high vulcanization rates and low energy consumption. These lines are available as electrically heated or gas-heated variants, depending on customer preference.

The design layout of the microwave tunnel is geared to the uniform heating of the profiles. The rubber surface is additionally heated through hot-air circulation. Variable power control and magnetron protection are the basis of these reliable and flexible lines.

Hot-air vulcanization lines

Rubicon offers autonomous lines for hot-air vulcanization of profiles, insulating hoses or special products. Hot-air circulation at high air velocities provides for good heating rates of the rubber extrudates.

The systems engineering of these vulcanization processes is developed and installed by Rubicon on an individualized basis. Here again, electrically heated or gas heated variants are available.

Rubicon offers powerful vertical or horizontal infrared vulcanization tunnels for the vulcanization of silicone rubber.

In addition to heating the surface, the infrared radiation penetrates the material and provides internal heating thus providing for fast stabilization of the extruded product. This will guarantee uniform surfaces and high dimensional stability even for low compound viscosities.

Vulcanization tunnels are designed for the vulcanization of peroxide cross-linked or addition cross-linked silicone hoses or profiles. High radiator temperatures also facilitate the use as shock tunnels for the vulcanization (pre-vulcanization) of rubber extrudates. They can also be designed for clean room applications.
